just finished playing 2 dota games. or shall i be precise, i totally quit 2 dota games. unashamedly i might add. and those are 2 prime examples of why i gave up weekday dota for quite awhile - lack of competent teammates. at least when i play with my friends i have a gauge of how they're gonna fare. plus when u play with friends at worst you'll get annoyed with them, but never to the extent of cursing their ancestors and descendants :D and that, of course, was said in jest. i firmly believe that if you're gonne swear at someone, u gotta at least have some principles. i still remember joel tay telling me in secondary sch, that you may make fun of a person's anything save for his parents and his name, both of which he has no control over. well i take it slightly further. i make sure that when i DO swear at someone, it's directed solely at the victim/perpetrator and never at his relations haha. that's most unbecoming i feel. afterall the stimulus for said cursing if due to your ineptitude, your incompetence, your utter buffoonery no?

hmm was reading the survey in the straits times regarding swearing in singapore nowadays. apparently it's on the rise. what bullshit. swearing on the rise?! swearing more condoned?! ain't happening damn it! what the hell! okok that was lame, but yeah. i dunno i guess they should've taken the survey one step further ya know? and ask what kind of company they're with when they swear. well i know for a fact that guys definitely swear around other guys. and perhaps girls among themselves as well. but as far as i know, guys and girls generally dont swear in front of each other. that's just kinda wrong isnt it. now don't get me wrong, i'm not even implying a hint of pretentiousness here. what im driving at is merely this: swearing is simply another form of expression. as is singlish. as is slang. for example would u go on and on with the la's leh's and lor's in say, a one to one conversation with an overseas friend? would u use colloquial (sp? anyway thanks mr perrin for that particular word taught haha) phrases like "talk cock" "dun play play" etc if say u were giving a speech to the nation? ok perhaps u would for effect, but would u pepper ur speech with it? i'm assuming that, like me, ur answer to those questions posed above is "no".

PS. On a side note, does SHE totally rock or what. i love their songs. granted not all of them but those that make the cut are vunderful!
