ok so today's mambo thingy was kinda disastrous. but then not like sucky disastrous, was more like funny disastrous. well ok i mean everything started nicely enough. alvin, edward and derren went in pretty early and were able to get a free table ie. standing space. jon also arrived before me, whereas paul came later. was pleasantly surprised to see that joel came as well. woot funky crowd. as usual they play the suckier songs at the start so pretty much the only song i learnt from paul was Dancing Queen. remember bits and pieces of others as well but dunno the titles. so anyways perhaps having a table was a double edged sword, cos they were ordering drinks like no tmr. in the end by like 1.30 alvin and derren were freaking stone drunk and sitting on the floor pseudo-meditating. was pretty hilarious. so duh we couldnt just leave them there like that so by abt 2am or so we figured we'd better try to get them home before they KO on the spot. we had to pretty much haul their lifeless bodies out onto the kerb. so yeah didnt get to enjoy the better songs played towards the end but no biggie. theres always a next time. firstly, met adel outside. didnt see her at first since i was helping to tend to the "wounded". she was just chilling outside for awhile, then she asked me what happened to derren haha. on hindsight, to others, it did look like the 2 of them were unconscious or something, but anyway just explained that they drank too much basically. now that i think abt it, i shouldve given her my 2 free drink coupons since i totally forgot to redeem them, grr thats kinda dumb of me. chatted with her for awhile then she went back in shortly after. so apart from adel, i think i also saw Proj Superstar semifinalist Sin Huey. or at least, im 90% sure the person looked like her la. she was like my fave contestant so i was slightly thrilled. well ok granted i didnt even watch a single complete episode of Proj SS but still entitled to support right?! BUT! BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT! the absolute best part. is that. i saw Gayle Nerva there. she was like walking out and saw alvin lying flat on his back on the pavement haha. as she was walking towards us i was confirming if my eyes were deceiving me. then she like asked jon something abt alvin (prob why he was flat on his back etc). and the whole time i was just there wide-eyed and open-mouthed that i was actually a mere 1m away from her and in real life! think she was abit drunk or something. but whatever, i wasnt thinking too clearly myself. and i say that because i freaking didnt even take a photo with her la. oh man what was i thinking. i mean ok in my defence i dont have a camera phone. but still i pretty much missed a (in my opinion) once in a lifetime opportunity. well i must confess that i did think of taking a photo, but how do u go up to someone and say something like "im such a great fan!" in a non-cheesy way?
yeah that's right, you cant! doh. argh argh argh feel like kicking myself. still, just the mere experience was great. freaking ecstatic. shame she didnt make it into the next round though. confident she'll ace the wildcard show! shucks man hope can run into her again some other time. maybe should go back next week haha.
